My WoW/Battle.net account got hacked. They hit the mother load by getting my account! OMFG.

Early Friday I tried to get to my Yahoo to see a movie time and my password wasn't working. I thought that strange because I've had this account for over 10 years. So I did the password retrieval thing, answered a secret question and was able to change the password and see that there was a new email address tied to my account tomchan888ok@yahoo.com.cn .

I haven't been on WoW since Sunday and so when I went to log in on Friday night my password didn't work. And I suddenly realized that I bet my account was hacked. Sure enough, I did the password retrieval thing and found out that my password had been changed on my accounts.

I also got an email that my secound account, that I closed back in November, was closed dut to violating the economy policy. Deathsprayer was on and said the guild bank had been mostly cleaned out.

Everyone is saying that takes about 3 weeks to get your account back and everything else.

Crap. Don't panic though it only took me about 3 or 4 days to get my stuff back, but that was back before the huge upswing in hacked accounts. Could be longer now. I think I'm going to go purchase one of those authenticator's today as something is definately going on. Blizzard is considering making them mandatory so I was kinda hoping I could hold off till they do that and maybe I can get a free one, but I think they are pretty cheap so I'm just gonna bite the bullet. If they are not sold out.

Update: I went ahead and purchased an authenticator. Cost me $7.00, Blizzard has waived the shipping fee. I was going to do it when I got hacked a while back but they were sold out. They have some in stock now.

I looked in the bank last night and there was still quite a bit of stuff in there that I would have thought would have been taken. Weird.

Sounds like you have a keylogger problem. If it was just tied to WoW that'd be something to worry about, but when your yahoo gets hacked you may have some type of virus or keylogger attached. Might want to check out your system and make sure nothing is lurking. And if you see 'Saqqara' on and she doesn't tell you to and I quote 'get the fuck in vent' or when you message her doesn't respond for a very long time, (you know because I could be playing sometime in the future when I get really bored and getting myself killed) then you know it is not me and need to go find a GM and tell them you find something suspicious. LOL Razz
